Forging Horseshoes with
Charlie Williamson
In Navasota, Texas
Do people say, “Oh? You shoe horses?” when you tell them you are a Blacksmith? Then you explain to them you don’t shoe horses. Classic.....
Here’s your chance to say “I don’t shoe horses but I can make a horseshoe”.
Our September ‘HABA’ meeting was at Charlie & Julie Williamson’s place just outside of Navasota.
Charlie showed us how to forge a couple of different kinds of horseshoes. A ‘Stamped or Cowboy’ shoe & a ‘Creased’ shoe. In addition, we had a ‘Live’ demonstration of how to properly trim and shoe a horse’s hoof.
