This February we will feature bowls and vessel making at Ed Malmgren's shop in Houston to support the Hungry Bowls Initiative. This will be similar to our demo last year on Bowl and Vessel making and we hope that you will bring your forges and spend the day making bowls and vessels with us.

Dave Koenig has provided a summary of what he will be demonstrating, showing the progression from a found piece of scrap metal to a handsome vessel plate. Click HABA Vessel Making to view or download (pdf).

Please Join Local Artists and Craftspeople for Houston’s Third Annual Empty Bowls Event March 3, 2007.

The Empty Bowls Initiative is a grassroots effort by artists and craftspeople across the country to feed the hungry in their communities. The Houston Empty Bowls Committee along with the Houston Food Bank and the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft are seeking contributions of handmade bowls and artworks from local artists and craftspeople.

Here are some excellent examples of what Dave Koenig of Tudor Forge has made this year.
